Device Evaluation and Pricing
NorthLadder agrees to purchase the Product at the value quoted in the initial Offer, subject to inspection and verification of the Product. If the inspection identifies any difference in the Product details or condition compared to the Customer’s declaration, NorthLadder may issue a Revised Offer reflecting the updated valuation.
4.1 Quote Validity
The quoted Offer is valid for a maximum of ten (10) days from the date of trade-in submission. The Customer must arrange shipment of the Product within this period. If the Product is not handed over to the courier within this validity window, the Offer shall expire automatically and the Customer will no longer be eligible for the quoted trade-in value. A new submission will be required.
4.2 Inspection and Grading
After the Product is received, NorthLadder will inspect and verify its condition. Device condition is assessed in accordance with NorthLadder’s grading criteria as published on the NorthLadder website at the time of the trade-in. The Customer acknowledges having reviewed these criteria prior to self-declaring the device condition. Inspection includes, but is not limited to, verification of the Product model, storage capacity, functionality, cosmetic condition, battery health (where applicable), activation lock status, accessories (where required), and any other characteristics affecting the Product value. NorthLadder’s assessment of the device condition shall be final and binding and shall take precedence over the Customer’s self-declaration in all cases.
4.3 Condition Matches Declaration
If NorthLadder’s inspection confirms that the Product matches the Customer’s declaration, the trade-in will proceed automatically at the quoted Offer and the Product will not be returned.
4.4 Revised Offer
If the condition differs from the Customer’s original description, NorthLadder may issue a revised Offer (the “Revised Offer”). Such Revised Offer shall be made within seven (7) business days of receipt of the Product by NorthLadder.
4.5 New Offer (Device Mismatch)
If the Product received by NorthLadder differs materially from the Product declared by the Customer at the time of the Offer, NorthLadder may, at its sole discretion, either (a) decline to make any purchase offer for the Product received and return it to the Customer, or (b) issue a New Offer reflecting the value of the Product actually received (the “New Offer”).
4.6 Customer Response to Revised or New Offer
Once you have received a Revised Offer or New Offer, you have seven (7) days to either (1) accept the offer, or (2) reject it and request the return of the Product. Failure to respond within seven (7) calendar days after the Revised Offer or New Offer has been sent to the registered email address shall be deemed acceptance of the offer. NorthLadder will retain the Product and proceed to complete the trade-in. The order will no longer qualify for cancellation once completed.
4.7 Final Inspection Authority
NorthLadder reserves the right to use manual inspection, diagnostic software, photographs, videos, and automated testing tools when assessing the Product. All inspection records may be retained as evidence supporting the final assessment.

Payment
Payment is made within three (3) business days of confirmation that the device meets purchase criteria, or within three (3) business days of counteroffer acceptance. NorthLadder is not responsible for errors in the bank details provided by you.
Shipping and Packaging
Where the trade-in involves shipment of the Product, the following conditions apply:
6.1 Shipping Label and Drop-Off
NorthLadder will provide the Customer with a prepaid shipping label, enabling the Customer to ship the Product free of charge. The Customer must hand the Product over at a designated UPS drop-off point and ensure it is properly packed in shipworthy condition before doing so.
6.2 Packaging Standards
The Customer must package the device securely to ensure safe transport. This requires: (a) use of a rigid, sturdy box with intact flaps; (b) wrapping the device in bubble wrap or anti-static foam with a minimum of two (2) inches of cushioning on all sides; (c) filling all empty spaces with appropriate packing material to prevent movement during transit; and (d) sealing all seams with strong packing tape (masking tape, cellophane tape, or string must not be used). NorthLadder shall not be liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging, and inadequate packaging may adversely affect the outcome of any lost or damaged shipment claim.
6.2A Transit Risk and Additional Items
The Customer is responsible for securely packaging the Product before handing it over to the courier. NorthLadder shall not be liable for any loss, damage, scratches, deterioration, or missing items arising during transit.
NorthLadder purchases and assesses only the Product and any accessories specifically required for the relevant trade-in category. Any boxes, packaging, cases, screen protectors, manuals, accessories, or other additional items sent with the Product may be discarded or recycled and will not be retained, returned, or separately compensated irrespective of final trade-in outcome.
The Customer is solely responsible for ensuring that only the Product intended for trade-in and any required accessories are included in the shipment. NorthLadder accepts no responsibility for any other items inadvertently included in the package.
6.2B Verification of Shipment Contents
NorthLadder’s inspection and assessment are based solely on the contents of the shipment received. Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that the Product and any required accessories handed over to the courier match the details declared during the trade-in submission.
NorthLadder reserves the right to record the opening of shipments and the inspection process using photographs, video recordings, or other appropriate means. In the event of any dispute regarding the contents of a shipment, the Product received, or the condition of the shipment upon opening, NorthLadder’s inspection records, including photographs and video recordings where available, shall be considered the primary evidence for determining the contents and condition of the shipment upon receipt.
NorthLadder reserves the right to rely on such inspection records when determining eligibility, grading, pricing, or resolving any customer dispute relating to the shipment.
6.3 Accessories.
Accessories (including chargers, cables, headphones, and original boxes) must not be included in the shipment and will not be returned if received.
As an exception, for all non-mobile and non-tablet categories (including but not limited to smartwatches, laptops, gaming consoles, and earphones), the Customer is required to include the original charger and charging cable as a mandatory requirement. This is necessary as each device category uses its own proprietary charging standard, and NorthLadder requires the appropriate charger to complete a full assessment of the device.
Where the Customer has confirmed during the trade-in submission that the charger and charging cable are included with the device, failure to include them in the shipment will be treated as a material misrepresentation of the device details. In such cases, NorthLadder reserves the right to issue a New Offer reflecting the revised assessment, or to return the device to the Customer at the Customer’s cost.
Devices in these categories received without the required charger, irrespective of the Customer’s declaration, will not be eligible for trade-in at the original quoted value and may be returned to the Customer at the Customer’s cost.
Any accessories (e.g., watch straps), cables, adapters, retail boxes, manuals, or other items voluntarily included by the Customer that are not expressly required under these Terms are sent entirely at the Customer’s own risk. NorthLadder accepts no responsibility for retaining, returning, or compensating the Customer for such items.
6.4 Proof of Handover
The Customer must obtain and retain proof of device handover to the courier (such as a pickup confirmation or drop-off receipt). This document is required to support any lost shipment claim. NorthLadder will not entertain lost device claims submitted without proof of handover.
6.5 Lost Device
In the event of a confirmed loss by the courier, NorthLadder will facilitate the claim process with the carrier on the Customer’s behalf. Courier claim processes may take between four (4) to six (6) weeks depending on the carrier’s timeline. Payout is conditional on a successful claim outcome from the carrier.
Loss during shipment may occur in two scenarios:
(a) Inbound Shipment (Customer to NorthLadder): Any payout will be based on the value declared by the Customer at the time of trade-in submission. NorthLadder accepts no liability beyond this declared value. The Customer must provide valid proof of handover to support any claim.
(b) Return Shipment (NorthLadder to Customer): Any payout will be based on NorthLadder’s assessed value as per the Revised Offer or New Offer issued, and not the Customer’s original self-declared value. NorthLadder will provide proof of dispatch to support the claim.

Transfer of Ownership
Ownership of the Product passes fully, unconditionally, and irrevocably to NorthLadder upon completion of inspection, where the device condition is confirmed to match the Customer’s self-declaration. No further acceptance is required from the Customer at this stage; the transfer is automatic.
Where a Revised Offer or New Offer is issued, ownership transfers upon the Customer’s acceptance of that offer, or upon the expiry of the seven (7) day response window, whichever is earlier.
By sending the Product to NorthLadder, the Customer waives all claims to ownership of, and any data contained within, the Product.
